Starting Off — Hybrid Prison

Renegade MC is a Hybrid Prison server, which means it combines the classic prison grind with extra gameplay systems like custom enchants, fishing, quests, PvP, and a player economy. This guide explains what makes it a hybrid and how to thrive in it.

What is Hybrid Prison?

A traditional prison server is simple: mine → sell → rank up → repeat. Renegade MC keeps that core loop but layers on top of it:

Custom Enchants — a deep enchantment system with 80+ enchants
Fishing — a full fishing minigame with custom fish, bait, boats, and tournaments
Quests — NPC-given tasks that reward money and gems
Mining Rewards — a special loot system that triggers while you mine
Reward Shards — collectible shards that grant bonus item rewards
PvP — combat is enabled in designated areas; gear up with combat enchants
Player Economy — trade with other players, run a shop cell, and compete on leaderboards

Your First Goal

When you join, focus on the mining loop first:

Mine in your rank's mine → /mines
Sell ores → /sell all
Rank up → /rankup

Once you have a comfortable money income, branch out into:

Fishing for extra gems
Quests for bonus rewards
Building up your cell

The Two Currencies

Starter Pickaxe

Every new player receives a starter Iron Pickaxe with:

Fortune II — bonus ore drops
Feed I — restores hunger while mining
Unbreakable — never loses durability
Unenchantable — blocked from receiving new enchants

This pickaxe is meant to get you started. When you are ready for a proper mining tool, craft or obtain a new pickaxe and use /enchanter to build it up.

Tips for Success

Don't ignore gems. They are hard to earn without questing, voting, and fishing — build gem income alongside your money income.
Upgrade your pickaxe. The difference between a basic pickaxe and a fully enchanted one is enormous.
Get a cell early. Having storage space keeps your mining runs efficient.
